Making a Difference
A Single Starfish, by Loren Eisley
"As a man was walking along a beach reflecting on his life, one of his thoughts was that no matter how he tried to make a difference he always seemed to be spitting in to the wind."
Welcome to Street Kids Rescue
Our mission is to support orphans, homeless and abandoned children in Southeast Asia.
The charity was started in May 2008 after Duncan and Alicia Mundell visited Burma (Myanmar) on holiday. While strolling around Rangoon (Yangon), they met some street kids who Duncan vowed to return and help.
Street Kids Rescue is now a registered charity and the scope of aid has been spread far beyond the original few children. We are now involved with over 20 projects in Burma, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos and support over 500 children in various homes and orphanages.
Another 1,000 are receiving help through feeding programs, child protection, medical care or educational funding. We have achieved a great deal with minimum expense by working with dedicated, local people at grassroots level who want to help disadvantaged children but are in need of resources.
There is a constant need for funding to continue our work and to help the many more kids in desperate need.
Many thanks to those who are already kindly helping with donations or sponsorship.
